Community engagement is very important to everyone at Up A Tree, LLC.  We are constantly looking for innovative ways to better serve our friends and neighbors here on Cape Cod and around the globe.

In the Fall of 2018 we conducted surveys of our past customers.  As an incentive we offered to make a contribution to Orangutan Foundation International for each completed survey.

As a result of the care and concern of our great customers we were able to make a sizable donation  to the organization, which works to preserve Orangutans and their habitat in Borneo and Sumatra, Indonesia, where the ‘forest people’, though critically endangered, still survive.

It may seem an odd choice for a tree company on Cape Cod, but we have good reason – Mark Sullivan, the founder and owner of Up A Tree makes his living climbing around in trees, he has loved primates since he was a little kid (his nickname is ‘Space Monkey’) and … well, take a look:

The plight of our fellow tree people is due to deforestation in their native lands, caused by illegal logging (think ‘teak’) and clear cutting to build palm oil plantations.

Though we cut trees, we do it legally and responsibly, to improve the safety and comfort of our customers homes.

Also, at Up A Tree we are into healthy living.  Although palm oil isn’t as bad as trans fats, it is high in high in saturated fat, which has long been linked to heart disease. Saturated fat boosts “bad” LDL cholesterol and triglycerides, both of which are risk factors for heart disease.

We are proud to help purchase and preserve habitat for these guys.

In the Fall of 2018 we became affiliate members of the Cape & Islands Association of Realtors.  Realtors do a great deal to support our local economy, and we are happy to work with them to help buyers, sellers and new homeowners on Cape Cod and throughout Southeastern Massachusetts to help keep their homes safe and their yards attractive and comfortable.

In the late Fall of 2018 Up A Tree decided it was important to support our fellow small businesses on the Cape and a joined the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce.  We look forward to working with many other great members to build a stronger economy.
